The Amazon is a river system spread across countries, floodplains, blackwater tributaries, forests, cities, and communities. There is no single Amazon cruise.
Use the live comparison below to review current routes, ships, dates, prices, and remaining spaces. Peru offers journeys from Iquitos into the Pacaya Samiria region. Brazil brings the scale of the Rio Negro, Manaus, and the Meeting of the Waters. Ecuador focuses on the Napo system and a different balance of river, forest, and community visits.
We compare operators independently and will tell you which route fits, including heat, humidity, insects, early starts, cabin size, and activity level.
In Peru, narrow channels and flooded forest are usually explored by skiff from a small expedition vessel such as Aria Amazon. In Brazil, the river can feel like an inland sea and routes often combine the Rio Negro with communities, forest walks, canoes, and the Meeting of the Waters. Ecuador uses shallower tributaries and may involve more hiking or overland access.
Choose the geography for the experience you want. Do not use a cabin photograph to decide between three different ecosystems and travel patterns.
High water opens flooded forest to skiffs and reduces dry-ground walking. Lower water exposes trails and beaches, concentrates some wildlife, and changes where boats can travel. Rain can occur in every month. Wildlife is never guaranteed.
The best season depends on what you want to do, your tolerance for heat and rain, and the exact river. Read the departure itinerary and ask what changes when water conditions move outside the normal range.
