We rise with the sun. High water guests will explore a "lost river" along the Marañón and walk across suspended bridges in the high rainforest. Low water guests venture into the Samiria River for fishing and a flora and fauna lecture, followed by a jungle walk. Both seasons offer chances to spot pink river dolphins and enjoy the "jungle symphony" after dark.

A morning visit to a local market allows you to see the day’s catch and exotic fruits, guided by our naturalists. The afternoon highlights a geographical wonder: the confluence where the Ucayali and Marañón rivers merge to birth the mighty Amazon. In the evening, we welcome new guests joining for the second half of the voyage as we continue along the Marañón.

An early start rewards us with a full-day skiff excursion deep into the pristine Pacaya River. We share the water with capuchin monkeys, egrets, and taricaya turtles. After a picnic lunch, you will witness a demonstration of fishing for paiche—the second-largest river fish in the world—before returning via the Ucayali River, watching banana boats transport their goods to market.

Best Price Guarantee: Find a better price elsewhere, and we’ll match it.
River Cruise Specialists: We focus exclusively on river expeditions, with recommendations grounded in first-hand expertise.
Travel that gives back: Every booking directly supports rainforest conservation project.
This 8-day expedition is the definitive Amazon experience, combining the depth of a serious nature expedition with the elegance of a boutique floating hotel. We highly recommend this full-week itinerary because it allows you to truly settle into the rhythm of the river. Unlike shorter trips, this journey gives you ample time to explore both major tributaries—the Marañón and the Ucayali—as well as the biodiversity hotspot of the Pacaya-Samiria National Reserve.
The pace is expertly managed to balance adventure with relaxation. You will wake up to the sounds of the jungle, spend days exploring black-water creeks by skiff or kayak, and end them with stargazing sessions free from light pollution. Whether you travel during the High Water season (flooded forests and deeper skiff access) or Low Water season (more hiking and migratory birds), the experience is consistently immersive. It is physically accessible for most travelers, with a "relaxed" activity level that involves minimal strenuous effort but maximum discovery.
