What we love about the Delfin I
Only four suites, making Delfin I the most private ship in the Delfin fleet.
Two Deluxe Master Suites have large private terraces with cool-water whirlpools.
The ship was originally built in 2006 and thoughtfully relaunched in 2025.
Delfin I is strongest for private-feeling Amazon travel, not for resort-style cruise facilities.

Delfin I is the most intimate way to travel with Delfin Amazon Cruises: only four suites, a locally built vessel, and a river journey that feels closer to a private expedition than a conventional cruise. Relaunched in 2025 after a careful renovation, Delfin I is best for travellers who want space, privacy, and a strong sense of place in the Peruvian Amazon. The two Deluxe Master Suites sit on the main deck with 180-degree windows and private terraces with cool-water whirlpools; the two Master Suites sit above, also with wide windows and furnished private terraces. On board, life stays personal: a single-table dining room, an outdoor top-deck lounge and bar, naturalist guiding, and skiff-based exploration of Pacaya Samiria. Days may include birdwatching, forest walks, piranha fishing, kayaking, swimming near pink river dolphins, and visits connected to local river life. Delfin I is a wonderful choice for couples, families taking the vessel privately, or travellers who dislike big-ship anonymity. It is not the right fit for guests who want multiple restaurants, large public areas, entertainment, or a highly structured resort atmosphere. Embarkation is via Iquitos and Nauta, with schedules shaped by river levels, weather, and wildlife.

Food on Delfin I is a genuine part of the Amazon experience: Peruvian technique, regional ingredients, local fruit juices, river fish, herbs and rainforest flavours served in an intimate dining room. Dietary needs can usually be handled with advance notice, which is important because supplies are planned around remote river logistics.
Delfin I is rooted in the region: built in Iquitos, decorated with Amazonian craft, and operated with local crews and guides. Delfin’s wider sustainability work includes community support, reusable bottles, refillable amenities, local sourcing, waste-management practices and vessels designed not to discharge waste into the river.
