Paying a deposit for a river journey should not require blind trust. Ventura TRAVEL GmbH is a German travel company. Package-tour bookings that fall under German package-travel law receive insolvency protection.
Your proof of protection is the Sicherungsschein. You receive it with or immediately after the booking confirmation or invoice. Keep it with your travel documents. It identifies the customer-money protection provider and explains how to make a claim.
This insolvency protection is not personal travel insurance. It does not cover trip cancellation, medical expenses or baggage.
Under Section 651r of the German Civil Code, the protection is designed to reimburse covered payments when the organizer becomes insolvent and the contracted travel services cannot be provided. If your package tour includes passenger transport, the statutory protection also covers necessary return transport and accommodation until return, subject to the legal conditions.
Your Sicherungsschein is the decisive document. Check the customer-money protection provider, contact details and terms printed on the Sicherungsschein supplied with your booking.
Read the official Section 651r text or speak with us through a video consultation if anything is unclear.
R+V currently provides the insolvency guarantee stated in our booking documents. According to R+V, the Sicherungsschein gives travelers a direct claim against the customer-money protection provider if insolvency prevents the contracted travel services.
For the current provider and claim process, always follow the contact details printed on your personal Sicherungsschein. R+V also publishes official information about this protection.
Before paying, read our no hidden fees and best price guarantee pages, as well as the booking terms linked in your offer.
