A night walk changes the forest quickly. The same trees feel closer, the air seems louder, and the guide's torch turns small details into the main event: insects, frogs, leaf movement, night calls and the sense that the rainforest has only just woken up.
On Manatee Explorer routes, this is usually offered near the beginning of the journey when conditions allow. It is optional, but it can be one of the clearest ways to feel the Amazon as a living place rather than a view from deck.
Night walks are weather- and safety-dependent.
Closed shoes, insect repellent and a small flashlight are useful.
Guests should stay close to the guide and move quietly.
